On Tuesday, May 12th, I started a new journey…365 days of Learning! I am going to put out a weekly summary of the things that I learned that week. All of these posts have occurred on my LinkedIn. Would love to connect with you there as well!

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 335, April 11, 2021

Today, I got to learn like a 2-year-old, and it was the best day!

Our son is OBSESSED with trains, so we took him to the NC Transportation Museum just outside of Charlotte.

There are lots of trains inside and out, cars, airplanes, bikes, tractors, and everything in between. We even got to take a ride on a historic train!

This picture shows us as we started out the trip – unsure about this loud train. And then our confidence and excitement grew, and we were soon running from train to train, pointing out all the cool features!

Isn’t it fun to be able to experience the world through their eyes?! He was talking about everything he saw, asking questions, repeating new things over and over (and over)! 😂

Let that be an encouragement to your new week of learning and working! Bring your childlike excitement!

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 336, April 12, 2021

Every Monday night, a tornado blows through our house. 🌪

We have a super quick turn after daycare to grab dinner, eat and make it to swim school. Usually, this means some tasty chicken from Chick-fil-a!

Tonight, our son received a packet of Table Topics Cards for Kids for his toy. Being the question-slinging mom that I am, this made me grin!!

One of my favorite things to do is ask questions…not easy questions, but make you think about the type of questions. And I LOVE that Chick-fil-a and Table Topics are pouring into families this way!

Here are three of the questions that I loved from the packet…Get the conversation going at dinner tomorrow, or use one with your team. It might just be a conversation to remember!

What is your favorite conversation starter question?

🟠 Any Headspace fans out there? 🟠

I just started exploring the app, and I am especially enjoying the focus and meditation features.

If you are a Netflix user, I see that Headspace Guide to Sleep is coming to your queue this month! Cool!

Tell me, what is your favorite way to use the app?

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 338, April 14, 2021

Want to improve your productivity and happiness?

It might be time to take a mental health day.

During the pandemic, people have been taking fewer sick days, less vacation, and working longer hours.

And it is taking a toll on us, and our mental health. I posted a LinkedIn article in the comments talking about how we can normalize taking mental health days. Highly recommend!

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 339, April 15, 2021

If you think of a time in the last year when you were really happy, what were you doing? 🤔

I saw this question on the TableTopics cards, and I thought it would be fun! Let’s learn something about each other today. 🤗

The first thing that came to mind was sitting around the campfire, telling stories with my parents and sisters and our families over Labor Day weekend in Michigan.

My mom can get pretty animated in her storytelling, and she had us all ROLLING in laughter about something ridiculous we did as kids. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time!

I remember just being really thankful that we could visit with our immediate family, the little cousins could play together, and we could experience a little slice of “normal.”

Your turn! What made you so, so happy this past year?! I can’t wait to hear! 🎉

“It is not death most people are afraid of. It is getting to end of life only to realize that you never truly lived.” -Prince EA

Do you want to get fired up today for your future?

You need to watch this Prince EA 5 minute spoken word video.

I hope it is an encouragement to you this weekend to LIVE.

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 341, April 17, 2021

Do you know your purpose?

Last week I hosted a #LinkedIn poll on purpose, and the results were very interesting!

🌸 75% said they were living in their purpose, either at work or personal life. Great!
🌸 25% said they were not living their purpose or were unsure of it!

Of these results, I found the following two items fascinating:
🌸 More people said they are living their purpose out in their personal life than work
🌸 Only 31% said they are living their purpose at work. This generates more questions for me!

Thank you for participating in the poll! I am putting something exciting together for my network, and this helps me tremendously!

What do these results say to you?

P.S. – for those wanting to try a poll – they are fun! I have conducted three, and participation is slowly growing…from 5 to 10 to now 16 respondents.

Are you living your purpose?

That’s all for this week!  Follow me on LinkedIn if you would like to learn with me daily, or subscribe below for a weekly digest of these learnings on the blog!
