#365DaysOfLearning – Week 46

by | Mar 27, 2021 | #365DaysofLearning, Blog

On Tuesday, May 12th, I started a new journey…365 days of Learning! I am going to put out a weekly summary of the things that I learned that week. All of these posts have occurred on my LinkedIn. Would love to connect with you there as well!

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 314, March 21, 2021

When that little voice pops into your head to say you are not good enough, what do you do?

I heard a line today that said men ignore it and women allow it to get louder. True? Seems as though.

So, what do we do?

💥 Shut that voice up and GO for it.
💥 Learn something that will help you feel more confident, and then go for it.
💥 Whatever you do, don’t hold yourself back.

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go. They merely determine where you start.” – Nido Qubein

Isn’t it awesome that we get to start fresh, every single day?! We get to wake up and DECIDE to take steps towards our goals.

Make it a great Monday!

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 316, March 23, 2021

Sometimes you meet someone that really challenges you (in a good way)!

That was the result of my conversation with Donnie Boivin, author, speaker, entrepreneur and host of the top 200 podcast, Success Champion.

I learned about his story – from serving in the Marine Corp to his 20 years in sales, to now launching and running 5 businesses. And I learned that in addition to all this, he runs a fully functioning farm, and has goats! 🐐

What I really appreciated about our “get to know you” conversation was that Donnie was not holding back on the tough questions! Big growth often requires big questions, ones that really make you think. So, thank you Donnie!

He has a new podcast launching on March 31st – GROWTH MODE…all about advice, tactics, and strategies to grow and scale a business. Check it out!

Thank you to the Linkedinternational Club | A Global Collective of Linkedinthusiasts for this awesome introduction. ❤

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 317, March 24, 2021

If you have ever purchased a toy for a child, you are probably familiar with the brand Melissa & Doug.

Melissa Bernstein and her husband Doug, started their company in 1988 with wooden fuzzy puzzles, and have grown it to be a BILLION dollar company with over 5,000 low tech products (all of which Melissa designed).

It is hard to believe that Melissa has been battling “existential depression” this entire time.

I watched this CBS Sunday Morning 6-minute special today and felt compelled to share their amazing work!

What I really admire about their story is they are using Melissa’s struggles and sufferings to help save others through their self-funded organization, Lifelines. They have so many resources – a book, podcast, a community, workshops, etc. for those searching for meaning in their lives.

Check out this amazing resource at lifelines.com. ❤

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 318, March 25, 2021

“Excellence. It’s often just an extra hour of planning.” – Brendon Burchard

As a planner, I quickly resonated with this quote! It can make all the difference to have a clear roadmap, avoid potential pitfalls and feel more prepared with just a little more time on the front end.

Warning: Too much planning can have you stuck in an inaction loop. I know about that too!

Where are all my planner friends at? 💁🏻‍♀️ Do you find you plan more at work or in your personal life?

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 319, March 26, 2021

Picture this. It’s Friday night, 9 pm, and you still haven’t completed your learning yet. What do you do? Skip it? Never!

You dial up a TED talk that you just found out about, ironically called “How to Multiply Your Time” by Rory Vaden.

Here are some important points I learned:
⏰ How we choose to spend our time isn’t just logical, it is emotional.
⏰ There is no such thing as time management, only self-management.
⏰Instead of the Covey quadrants and 2-dimensional look at time (importance and urgency), a new model is emerging including significance, or how long that use of time will have an impact.
⏰ Multipliers ask what can they do today that would make tomorrow better. Spend time on things today that give you more time tomorrow.
⏰ #Eliminate, #Automate, #Delegate!!

#365DaysOfLearning – Day 320, March 27, 2021

You have heard the phrase “All is well that ENDS well.”

But what about “All is well that BEGINS well!”?

Being a John Maxwell Team Member, I enjoy to diving into John’s different books and finding gems that really resonate with me. This was one.

“Your attitude at the beginning of a task affects its outcome more than anything else.” -John Maxwell

So as you set out on new projects and tasks this week, be intentional to have a positive attitude towards them! It might just make all the difference in how it concludes.

What are you planning to start well this week?

That’s all for this week!  Follow me on LinkedIn if you would like to learn with me daily, or subscribe below for a weekly digest of these learnings on the blog!
